Service Gladhand (Blue), Specifications & Fitment

This is the blue service-line gladhand, the quick-connect coupler that joins the tractor and trailer service (control) air line so the foot-brake signal passes back to the trailer brakes. It mates to a standard SAE J318 gladhand and uses a full-face rubber seal to hold a leak-free connection under road vibration. The blue color and offset locking lugs are the industry standard that keep the service line from being cross-coupled to the red emergency line. Replace it when you have an air leak at the coupling, a torn or hardened seal, or a cracked casting that will not lock up.

Where it's used
