DEF Filter Kit for Detroit DD13 / DD15 / DD16, Specifications & Fitment

Complete diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) filter service kit for the DEF pump module on Detroit Diesel DD13, DD15 and DD16 engines (GHG14 and GHG17, 2014-2021). The filter element stops particles and crystallized urea before they reach the pump and the dosing valve. The frost compensation membrane absorbs the expansion of DEF when it freezes, so the pump housing is not cracked in winter. MANN-FILTER is an original equipment filter maker, and its urea filters are built to resist frost and ammonia.

Where it's used

Fits the DEF pump on Detroit DD13, DD15 and DD16 engines as installed in Freightliner and Western Star trucks. Replace the kit at the DEF filter interval in the engine maintenance schedule, or when the pump housing leaks.

Symptoms: DEF leaking from the pump filter housing, or fault code SPN 4374 / FMI 0 (DEF pump speed high, under-pressurized DEF system). Detroit traces both to a torn frost compensation membrane and directs replacing the membrane, not the pump. This kit includes a new membrane. Coat the seals with the supplied lubricant on assembly.
