This is an OE grade rear drive axle shock absorber for Volvo trucks, built to damp the suspension over the drive tandem and keep the load planted on rough road. Sachs is a factory damper supplier to Volvo, and this is a twin tube oil unit that matches the original ride rate rather than a gas charged substitute. Tired shocks bring on a bouncy or floaty ride, cupped drive tires and extra cab and frame motion over bumps and dips. Replace per axle in pairs so both sides control the suspension evenly and protect the tires.
